In fact, I do think that we are proles. We are in a way ignorant, young and careless! Sometimes we don't even care for anything of importance. We're slobs, and most of the times won't do anything without someone being in our face about it. We don't do our homework unless remind or forced. We don't clean our rooms unless we're yelled at. We don't listen to what people tell us, until we MAKE THE MISTAKE ourselves. We don't tell the truth until we're caught in a lie. We don't do anything.
WE CLOSE OUR EYES IN THE FACE OF FEAR.
WE CLOSE OUR EYES BECAUSE WE ARE IGNORANT AND SCARED.
Very much like the proles in the book. We are proles. We don't really care for things in our life, like decision making, school etc... so why would we care for things that we can't see. If you close your eyes against truth then your walking with your eyes closed. If you are IGNORANT, you don't see. In the book they mention how many proles don't even understand or see how, the government is taking over, or abusing their rights. Much like us . We don't ask questions when we need to. We question stupid things like
why are you wearing that?
why did you break up with me?
why is she wearing my outfit?
why does he hate me?
why did you leave me?
MY QUESTION IS..
WHY DO YOU CARE?
WHY ARE YOU SO IGNORANT?
The proles in the book do the same thing we do... they spend all their lives working and arguing about stupid stuff.PROLES OR "WE" just want to live average lives, always relying on others to do things for you. The only outcome of this is abuse, when you let someone else do things for you they end up taking advantage which is what the government did to the people in the book and something that is happening today. We have no power over political decision making ALTHOUGH WE THINK WE DO. We always except things as meant to be. We always consider ourselves inferior, and don't think about more important things because everyone just assumes they can't do it. That they won't be able to or that it's not possible.. so in return no one tries or gives a dam. People just accept their situations and try to move on. What we say in return is simply "HEY, THAT'S LIFE!" Not realizing that it could be so much more.

I do think in a way that what Syme was talking about is and isn’t true. I think we are half way there. If you think about it briefly we have a huge vocabulary. The English language has many words, many of them most of us don’t know, haven’t heard of, or don’t know what they mean. There are tons of synonyms for different words, and a million ways to describe one word. However what Syme was expressing is becoming true. In the language Syme wants to make there are very few words. He’s not making a new language just making it shorter. Our language is basically the same. Even though we have so many words, we don’t use them, so its like they aren’t there. I mean if you don’t use them, then why are they important? Its like they don’t exist. The best example I can think of, would be a person, even though you are around, if you don’t have a birth certificate its like you don’t exist so even if you’re there, its really like your not. The same thing is happening with us. People talk on aim, msn, yahoo etc… we use abbreviations to talk. However technology is a huge part of our lives. Almost every home as a computer, a television and a phone or cell phone. Almost all the people we know have used the internet before or talked online. Since it’s so popular it becomes part of our lives, and now its progressing into the way we talk and write. At work, at school and at home.
